JOB TITLE: Superintendent (Commercial Construction)

JOB SUMMARY:

Setterlin Building Company is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead and coordinate field operations on commercial construction projects across Central and Southern Ohio.

 

This role is responsible for managing daily jobsite activities including safety, scheduling, quality, and subcontractor coordination. The Superintendent plays a critical role in delivering projects safely, on time, and to Setterlin’s quality standards.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead all onsite construction activities from mobilization through final completion
  • Serve as the primary onsite representative for Setterlin
  • Coordinate manpower, subcontractors, equipment, and material deliveries
  • Enforce safety policies and OSHA compliance; lead safety meetings and job hazard analyses
  • Monitor daily progress and collaborate with the Project Manager to maintain schedules
  • Maintain accurate jobsite documentation including daily logs, RFIs, and field reports
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure work meets plans, specifications, and contract requirements
  • Assist with project closeout including punch lists, inspections, and owner turnover
  • Support cost control efforts including labor tracking, timesheets, and material usage

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3–7+ years of experience in a Superintendent or field leadership role
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and sequencing
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and productivity
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
  • Experience with Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB) is a plus

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to navigate active construction sites, including uneven terrain, ladders, and scaffolding
  • Ability to be on your feet and actively engaged on the jobsite throughout the day

 

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS:

  • Promote and enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations
  • Lead by example in maintaining a safe jobsite
  • Conduct and participate in jobsite safety meetings and inspections
  • Identify and address potential hazards proactively

  • Maintain clear communication with Project Managers, subcontractors, and field teams
  • Take ownership of jobsite performance and team accountability
  • Support a positive, team-oriented work environment
  • Willingness to travel between project sites across Central and Southern Ohio
