JOB TITLE: Project Engineer (Commercial Construction)

JOB SUMMARY:

Setterlin Building Company is seeking a Project Engineer to support commercial construction projects from award through final closeout.
 

This role plays a key part in project coordination, documentation, and execution while working closely with Project Managers and Superintendents. The Project Engineer helps ensure projects run smoothly, stay organized, and meet quality and schedule expectations.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support project teams from preconstruction through closeout
  • Assist with RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements
  • Help develop and track project schedules
  • Monitor project progress, materials, and quality
  • Coordinate with Superintendents, subcontractors, and project teams
  • Assist with project closeout documentation and processes
  • Support jobsite safety efforts and compliance

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical documents
  • Proficiency with construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.) and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel to project sites across Central and Southern Ohio

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Internship or experience in construction, project coordination, or skilled trades
  • Exposure to scheduling, estimating, or field operations
  • Understanding of construction processes and safety standards

 

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS:

  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
  • Participate in jobsite safety meetings
  • Maintain a safety-first mindset on all projects
