CRAFTSMAN I

Setterlin Field Associates possess skills and perform work which is basic to most building construction. They erect wood framework in buildings; build forms for concrete; and erect partitions, studs, joints, drywalls, and rafters. Many of our carpenters work indoors to install all types of floor coverings, ceilings, paneling, trim, and interior systems. They are very skillful as “finish” work is visible and often involves expensive materials. Setterlin Field Associates use a wide variety of hand and power tools, and they maintain their tools in good, safe working order.  Each field associate is expected to furnish his or her own small hand tools and have the tools with them at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Job Knowledge

  • Handle material up to 100 pounds
  • Hand excavation
  • Assist placing concrete
  • Erect scaffolding, with assistance
  • Demolition using jackhammer or hand tool
  • Assist with concrete forms
  • Erect concrete forms, with direction
  • Operate “Bobcat”
  • Operate miscellaneous power tools, as directed
  • Rough framing (wood or metal), with direction
  • Install windows, doorframes and hardware, with direction

Productivity

  • Associates level of work output makes money for the company
  • Self-starter that initiates proper activity without being told

Quality

  • Performs the work right the first time

Safety

  • Follows company safety plan and OSHA regulations
  • Wears personal protective equipment
  • No accidents

Housekeeping

  • Cleans up as needed
  • Takes care of company equipment

Attendance

  • Shows up to work in accordance to the attendance policy
  • Attends job meetings, as required
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends, when project requires

Cooperation

  • Cooperates with supervisor, co-workers and others
  • Maintain open lines of communication with all parties involved in the project
