Manages onsite construction engineering activities on large, complex or multiple projects from award through final acceptance by the owner so that Setterlin may successfully complete its contractual obligations and produce a quality structure at the lowest possible cost, on schedule, with a reasonable profit and the highest regard towards safety.
Typical Duties:
Serves as Setterlin representative and maintains professional relationships with owners, architects and subcontractors
Becomes familiar with project documents
Updates drawings and specifications
Responsible for the preparation and utilization of a CPM job schedule
Advises Project Manager of potential schedule problems/impact
Assists Superintendent in monitoring of productivity rates and efficient use of materials
Monitors and controls quality of the project from start to finish
Reviews submittals for adherence to specifications and accuracy
Monitors quality of workmanship and advises Project Manager of deficiencies as needed in order to produce a quality building
Ensures project is closed out properly and on a timely basis
Ensures all projects are completed in a safe manner
Requirements
Educational and experience requirements include: 4 year engineering, construction management, or architecture degree or equivalent.
Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize associate and subcontractor performance. Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, standards, etc. and their impact of project activities is essential; excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Ability to solve practical problems and dal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instuctions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Some travel will be required - Almost all Setterlin projects are located within central and southern Ohio.
